It was a pretty calm week at home considering Mommie had to work and Papa was taking care of me. He did okay...I mean I didn't starve or anything, and somehow my diapers got changed. Still, why do I have to cry and stuff in order to get fed or changed or picked up. Aren't parents supposed to be mind readers? Hey you babies out there...let's hear your opinions.
Anyway, like I said, I survived everything allright. I've done some neat stuff this week. I'm making long moaning sounds that go on and on and make Mommie and Papa really nervous, then they can't stop laughing because the sounds are so funny. I go in the Johnny Jump-up now, and am a little to big for bouncy seats. I roll over both directions, but I don't get trapped on my belly as much. I'm sleeping a little more at night also, which is good because Mommie goes back to work full time (overtime?) on Tuesday. Oh ya, I had my 4 month doctor appointment and shots :- ( and I weighed 14 pounds, 12 ounces and was 26 inches long. Not long until I can reach the gas pedal, and then watch out!

Look at the stuff I saw at the weddings last week. Shocking.

This is Eloise, the flower dog, at her parent's (Marci and Dave) wedding in Wisconsin.

These are Benjamina's wedding shoes at her and Jacob's wedding in Portland.

It is crazy, I tell you. Next thing you know, people will be wearing shorts to weddings.

Aaaaaaa! Somebody is trying to crush my head. Oh, false alarm. It's only Mommie making nice.

This is where I get to show how big and strong I am getting. I hold my head up really well now and...

...I get to go in the Johnny Jump-up where...

...I tickle Bossie the cow and...

...practice my ballet.

This is my Nana Barbara telling me a joke. I hope everybody sent her a birthday card like I asked.

There is one other event of the week. I am sucking my thumb! On purpose! Please also notice my refined upbringing in extending my pinkie.

We are back from Marci and Dave's wedding, and are now off to Portland, to Jacob and Benjamina's wedding. Enough weddings already. I'm getting a pain from all this travelling. I slept much of the time on the airplanes, to Mommie and Papa's relief. The food on the planes was the worst ever. I'm lucky that I had a backup plan. Mommie and Papa did bring other food, which was a good thing.

We saw lots of relatives and had a good time in Minneapolis. The oldest Berman met the youngest Berman. That was cool. I don't have many pics from the trip, cuz travelling is a busy time. Here are some of the ones I got.

Here is the first and only full moon you'll see on my web page.

Sometimes I'm just too cute for my clothes.

This is one of long car rides in Wisconsin, or Minnesota, or someplace. I just can't keep track. At least there was tasty food in this picture.

Car rides are boring, so I just go to sleep. It's nice to see Mommie has fun even when I'm asleep.

When we were on the ferry, I got to ride in Mommie's lap. That was much funner than the seat.

This is my great-great-uncle Reuben Berman. I got to play with him while Mommie did trouble shooting on his computer. I volunteered for TS duty, but it was a PC, and I only do Macintoshes.

Here is me and Papa waiting for the ferry. I get to ride outwards in the Willie Carriers now that I can hold my head up. The Willie Walla's shirt stays relatively dry now too.

Me and papa are updating the Willie Sol Zone. Papa sometimes make editorial suggestions, but I definitely control the content.

8/16/1997

The Willie Sol Zone is a little early this week because on Sunday I will be driving to Wisconsin to go to Marci (the Wedding Princess) and Dave's wedding on Madeline Island in the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior. First we are going to Minneapolis to see Great Grandma Edith and Great Great Uncle Reuben (My Great Grandpa Bill's brother).

I hope the plane ride is okay. I don't know if I like planes or not, but I hear the food is lousy. I told Mommie to order me the Seafood platter. Maybe there will be a little lox or whitefish and a bagel. Anyway, I will be back on Thursday, 8/21, so write me lots of letters so I have a full mailbox when I get home.

It is Nana Barbara's birthday on 8/16. Send her a card!

It has been such a busy week that it seems the only time I have to sleep is in the car. Now, if Papa let me drive, I would be happy to let him sleep awhile.

Here is me and Mommie. I think this shows who I got my "cute" genes from.

Another one of me and Mommie. Now get away from me with that camera.

I said NO CAMERAS, this is a private moment.

I am the coolest in my new shades, UV protected and everything.

Being cool is great...but I can't see a thing.

Let's have a staring contest. I bet I won't blink! I hardly ever blink.

Here's where I'm going. No, not the fridge, smart guy. I'm going to Minnie Apples and Whizconsin.

8/11/1997

It has been a very productive week for me. I have been rolling over onto my tummy, and once, I accidentally rolled back onto my back. That scared me because I didn't think that was supposed to happen. Also, the charm school classes have been paying off; I'm becoming more sociable and chatty with my Mom during my mealtimes. Sometimes I even wipe off my own spit!

Last night we watched a meteor shower from Cougar Mountain. I was nervous about the name, but we saw no actual Cougars. I've been a stargazer since before birth, and last night was no exception. We saw lots of little meteors, and one really big one. The Pleides were out in force, and Aunt Marci let me look through her binoculars. Some people had a telescope set up and we saw Saturn and its rings. It was alot of fun, but we didn't get home til almost 2 in the morning. Just in time for my mid-night snack.

This week, my friend Bill came to visit from England and he brought the Queen with him. We had lots of fun with Bitsy, and no, I won't give back her wig or the tiara.

This is my technique for rolling over. First I stick my feet up in the air...

...then I topple over to my side where a tasty surprise is waiting for me...

...then I keep on going until my knees are on the mat.

It is sure hard work getting here.

I wonder if anybody is looking.

Hello, anybody there? I'm lifting my head here all by myself. Hello?!?!

Bathtime! Headlifting is sweaty work.

After my bath, I get to wear this neat hat thing.

It is a hat, isn't it? Papa told me it is a hat.

He SAID it was a hat! Waaaahh! (How do you like my Uncle Fester imitation? Good, isn't it.)

big boys, all in a row.

Hmmmm, Papa does not seem to be paying attention to me...

GIMME SOME MILK!!!!!

8/4/1997

Mommie, Papa and I just got back from my Cousin Craig's 50th birthday party in Portland, Oregon, and boy am I pooped! This is the first time that I have left my home state of Washington. The car ride was okay. I stopped and saw Rabbi Marna's new house in Olympia. On the way back, I slept half the way, and then I played the rest of the time.

My Gram Claire and Granpa Bob were here this last week too. We had fun playing and swinging and making eyes and tongues at each other.

______________________________

Me and Granpa Bob like to play with my doggie together. I tried to tell him that the doggie tastes good too, but he wouldn't bite.

I'm getting ready to take a nice big chomp on the doggie. This week I learned how to roll on my side. That doggie doesn't have a chance now.

On my side again. I'm trying to make the Hangaroos think I'm sleeping, and then I pounce.

Fffffftttttttt.

Papa says this picture of him proves he always liked wearing shorts. You are weird, Papa.

I'm so cool in my hat! Anybody that wants to discuss a long term contract can contact my agent.

Here I'm showing Tante Rachel how to stretch properly to avoid injury.

Papa now likes to fly me around on my belly. Maybe tomorrow I will give him a big surprise on his arm.

I feel a burp coming...

...Yes, that was a good one.
